Employees are an organization's most valuable asset. As a result, safeguarding their well-being is critical. Here are some ways HR may assist employees with their emotional and professional requirements (Van Tiem, 2003).

Providing career growth

Stagnation is terrible for business, thus it's a good idea to keep your best personnel. HR can set up career paths for employees to follow in order to ensure that they have a bright future with the company. HR can then check in with employees on a regular basis to help them progress in their careers.

Additional training is sometimes required for the above-mentioned career advancement. Your company may offer educational support, and HR may aid in determining which classes and training programs would be most beneficial to an employee on his or her chosen career path. HR can also collaborate with managers to ensure that an employee's work schedule is flexible enough for them to attend classes.

Training and supporting managers

Managers do not appear out of nowhere. They are made. HR can assist managers with management advice, ensuring that departments and teams are as healthy and functional as possible. This could entail sending managers to formal trainings and retreats on a regular basis.

Supporting health and wellness

It's critical to keep in mind that employees are people. They'll require assistance dealing with mental illness, health problems, debt, pregnancy, adoption, and a variety of other life events. HR can assist employees in dealing with any of these or other situations.

Conclusion

The human resources department has a significant impact on a company's culture: if HR is poisonous, employees will be discouraged and less likely to seek HR's assistance, whether for professional or personal reasons. If HR truly cares about employees' well-being, though, the culture will be one of openness and growth.
